Secondary Science Teaching Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated science teacher to join our thriving secondary school in Stockport, Greater Manchester. As a key member of our science department, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality science lessons, helping students achieve their academic potential and fostering a genuine interest in science.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a supportive and collaborative school community. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to developing students' skills, from practical science to theoretical learning, and will play an essential part in creating a positive and stimulating learning environment.

  • Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with potential for Key Stage 5 teaching.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages active student participation and fosters a passion for science.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the science curriculum and work collaboratively with the science department.
  • Participate in school activities, departmental meetings, and professional development to continually improve teaching practice.

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or related field).
  • Experience teaching science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential; experience teaching Key Stage 5 is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of the secondary science curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring students to pursue science.
  • Enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this if necessary).
