About the Role

As a Creative Wellbeing Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering art therapy sessions that promote the emotional and social development of primary school students in North Manchester, Cheetham Hill.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Deliver Art Therapy Sessions: Plan and deliver tailored art therapy sessions that cater to the diverse needs of students, both individually and in small groups.
  • Collaborate with Teachers and Staff: Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff to identify students who require additional support and develop strategies to address their needs.
  • Family and Carer Engagement: Communicate effectively with families and carers to provide them with feedback and guidance on how to support children at home, promoting a collaborative approach to wellbeing.
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy: Contribute to the school's whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies: Comply with safeguarding and child protection policies at all times, prioritizing the safety and welfare of students.
Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Art Therapy Qualification and Registration: A recognized qualification in Art Therapy (MA or equivalent) and registration with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).
  • Experience Working with Children: Proven experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting, and a strong understanding of child development and mental health issues.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Emotional Intelligence and Empathy: A high level of emotional intelligence and empathy, with the ability to create a safe and supportive environment for students.
Salary and Benefits:
