System Development Manager (Projects)


We are seeking a highly experienced System Development Manager to lead the development of system solutions from tender stage, supporting implementation throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning and delivering project solutions, leading the development of new system solutions, and liaising with other engineering groups on issues such as EMC compatibility.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement project plans to ensure successful delivery of project solutions.
  2. System Solution Development: Lead the development of new system solutions, ensuring they meet customer requirements and are delivered on time.
  3. Liaison with Engineering Groups: Collaborate with other engineering groups to resolve issues related to EMC compatibility and ensure seamless integration of system solutions.

    Essential Requirements:

    1. MSc or BSc level education in an engineering related subject, preferably control systems/electrical engineering/systems engineering.
    2. High degree of computer and software literacy, including proficiency in relevant tools and technologies.
    3. Knowledge of UK railway safety approval processes, including familiarity with relevant regulations and standards.

      Desirable Requirements:

      1. IRSE Systems or Engineering Managers license, demonstrating expertise in systems engineering and management.
      2. Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer, indicating a high level of technical knowledge and skills.
      3. PTS, showing proficiency in specific technical areas.
      4. Corporate member of an engineering institute, demonstrating commitment to professional development and industry engagement.
