Production Engineer Job Description

Role: We are seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join our workshop-based team.

Location: The role is based in a close proximity to Newmarket, Suffolk.

Working hours: The successful candidate will work on a shift basis, with options for DAYS or NIGHTS, including Sunday to Wednesday and Sunday to Tuesday, or Wednesday to Saturday and Thursday to Saturday.

Salary: The salary for this role is between £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, plus a shift incentive.

Capacity of role: This is a permanent position.

We are a reputable organisation looking to increase our workforce by adding additional Production Engineers to our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting Lathe Machine production to maintain production output.
  • Training new staff and progressing existing staff.
  • Diagnosing faults and repairing Lathe Machines and associated Equipment.
  • Completing and updating tasks using maintenance-based software.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in using a range of tool room/workshop-based machinery.
  • Familiarity with CNC-based Machines, with at least 5-10 years' experience in a production environment, preferably on a 24/7 or shift basis.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose faults associated with Machine Wear and Component Quality.
