We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team at Shorterm Group in Doncaster. This is a permanent position with an estimated salary of £34,542 - £37,398 per year.

This role involves the overhaul of rail equipment and working alongside other members of the Mechanical Assembly team to fit sub-assemblies to bogie units. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting the overhaul of rail equipment
  • Reassembling Rolling Stock components following deconstruction and maintenance of parts
  • Working with other team members to fit sub-assemblies to bogie units, including brake callipers, sensors, motors, and gearboxes
  • Stress testing final products prior to sign off and dispatch to customers

To be successful in this role, you will need a time served NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering or a related field. You should also have experience in mechanical engineering in a manufacturing environment and be proficient in using basic hand tools. Additionally, you should be able to read and interpret part manuals, schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
