Chief Technology Strategist for Structured Products

Marex, a leading global financial services platform, is seeking an experienced Chief Technology Strategist to lead its Structured Products division. This key role will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of our technology stack and driving innovation within the business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-stack JavaScript development, with expertise in NodeJS, TypeScript, ReactJS, jest, expressJS, and GraphQL. They should also be able to preside over backend .NET development with C#. In addition, they will need to have a basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or equivalent, and experience building, distributing, and running applications using Docker images.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing the technology architecture for the delivery team, line managing the team to optimize its structure and continuously deliver value to the business, collaborating with the Head of Derivatives Trading on the direction of the application, and defining the roadmap and strategy with the Head of Development and other development leads.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing projects to ensure they are run efficiently and delivered on time and on budget, liaising with business users and BA/QAs to define business requirements and provide updates, ensuring production-grade systems and proper documentation, and defining software development best practices and processes.

In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to prioritize and prepare stories and bugs for sprint planning, ensure stories are well-formed, testable deliverables that can be delivered iteratively with testable acceptance criteria, and resolve support issues in a professional and timely manner.

A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, the ability to build relationships, network, and influence others is essential. The salary for this position is estimated to be around $150,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
