Cyber Security Career Opportunities

We are seeking highly motivated and ambitious individuals to join our Cyber Security Trainee programme. This programme is designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in a career in Cyber Security.

Programme Overview

The programme consists of four stages:

  1. Accredited Online Training

Participants will complete a selection of professional, accredited and industry-recognised courses from CompTIA, which is the global leader in IT Technician, Networking and Cybersecurity training. The training is delivered via multimedia rich video tutorials, practice labs, presentations and quizzes through a portal that participants study from home. Participants will also be assigned an expert tutor and a support mentor to help them throughout their training.

  1. Practical Training

Participants will gain practical experience by using practice labs which enable them to practice and master what they have learned. Gaining practical hands-on experience gives participants confidence to be proficient in their first IT role. This combination of theoretical and practical skills is what line managers need participants to have to be effective and confident in their role.

  1. Official Exams

Participants will then go on to sit the CompTIA A+ and the CompTIA Network+ exams to give them the official certifications which will be recognised not only in the UK, but worldwide. The CompTIA A+ is the most asked for certificate for entry-level IT roles and the certification most IT Managers start their own careers with. All PCs in a professional environment are networked to servers, cloud-based or otherwise and the Network+ gives participants a needed foundation level of knowledge in networking.

  1. IT Technician Placement

We work with participants to secure their first role as an IT Technician, with a starting salary of anywhere between £18K-25K. Ideally, participants will need to gain two years' experience in this role before they can progress into a Cyber Security role. While working as an IT Technician, we will release participants' second batch of training which is specifically designed to qualify them to move into the Cyber Security field. This official, accredited training consists of online training, practical training and an official exam (CompTIA Security+). Further, we can tailor the package to include courses like the Certified Ethical Hacker and Certified Network Defender depending on participants' requirements and future direction.

Career Progression

Once participants have completed all the mandatory training in stage four and have gained two plus years experience in the IT industry, they will be ready to move into higher paying Cyber Security roles. Our recruitment support team specialises in the IT and Cyber Security space and roles at this level have an average starting salary of £35K.
