Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain is partnering with a leading FMCG manufacturing business to find a Director of Global Indirect Procurement.

This 9-month contract opportunity will cover a permanent position, allowing the successful candidate to gain valuable experience in a global business unit.

The Role:

As the Director of Global Indirect Procurement, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a global category sourcing strategy for indirect procurement. This will involve delivering benefits, including top-line and bottom-line value contributions, across multiple spend categories.

You will collaborate with senior stakeholders globally to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring optimal value, mitigating risk, and managing the innovation process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a spend portfolio in excess of £500m
  • Lead a team of 8 category managers
  • Develop and implement procurement KPIs, including savings, contract compliance, and supplier base management
  • Commercially own strategic supply relationships
  • Ensure security of supply through short-term issue resolution and longer-term strategic risk and relationship management
  • Optimize the supply base
  • Integrate with senior stakeholders to enhance competitive advantage
  • Manage, coach, and develop the Global Indirect Procurement Category Team
  • Advance business processes through leading-class standards implementation
  • Deliver high value to top-line growth and bottom-line value contribution

Requirements:

  • Degree educated with an MCIPs qualification
  • Expertise related to specific categories (CAPEX, Services, Logistics & Supply Chain)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical expertise
  • Project management skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Effective leadership qualities with a global perspective
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
