Job Title: Control Systems Engineer

Ross-shire Engineering Limited is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team in delivering innovative solutions to the Water industry. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and commissioning automation and control systems solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop control systems solutions using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI)/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to develop robust control systems architectures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop detailed functional design specifications and associated schedules from the agreed control philosophy.
  • Implement robust change control during the entire project lifecycle.
  • Develop and self-test control system software to achieve the required functionality.
  • Provide specialist control system assistance to commissioning teams and investigate technical issues.
  • Manage the specification, development, installation, and validation of automation projects within budget and corporate guidelines.
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND degree in Engineering or equivalent, with particular emphasis in electrical, mechanical, electronic, automation, and/or chemical disciplines.
  • Proven ability in the design and commissioning of control and electrical systems associated with process automation, preferably in the Hydro power and Water sector.
  • Detailed experience in the development of control systems solutions using PLCs and HMI/SCADA systems in the process control environment.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of process systems, P&ID control, and loop tuning.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical schematics.
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel, including regular site working.
  • ECS/CSCS card and SIMEMS/Rockwell Certification.
  • Full UK driving license.
