We are seeking an experienced clinician to join our Suffolk Adult Eating Disorder Service as a Trainee Psychological Therapist.

The successful candidate will undertake CBT training and work with adults across the age range, developing expertise in working with individuals living with eating disorders.

This is a full-time band 6 training post, funded by HEE for 2 years at the training grade before transitioning onto a Band 7 CBT therapist role upon successful completion of the post-graduate diploma and accreditation process.

Our team provides formal psychological intervention (CBT) while undertaking a programme of core CBT training with UCL. In the second year of training, there will be a specialist focus on CBT for Eating Disorders, allowing the trainee to develop expertise in this area.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in the interface between physical and mental health, high-quality clinical skills, and a desire to develop and learn.

In Year 1, the post holder will work alongside senior CBT therapists/8B Clinical Psychologists, providing complex assessments, developing meaningful formulations and safety plans, and making highly skilled decisions that guide ongoing intervention options.

Clinical supervision will be provided, and management oversight will sit with the 8C Consultant Clinical Psychologist - Head of Psychological Therapies.

As a member of our team, you will contribute to broader team tasks as appropriate, including tasks such as undertaking complex assessments, developing meaningful formulations and safety plans, and making highly skilled decisions that guide ongoing intervention options.
