Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced midwife to join our team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality intrapartum, antenatal, and postnatal care to women and birthing people.

About the Role

The primary location for this role is the labour ward at Darlington Memorial Hospital, with opportunities for rotation to the antenatal and postnatal wards. We are looking for a midwife who is enthusiastic about working collaboratively with women, birthing people, and families, and promoting personalized choice and exemplary care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assessing and advising on the needs of women, birthing people, partners, families, and carers during all stages of pregnancy and postnatal care.
  2. Planning, delivering, and evaluating standards of evidence-based midwifery care.
  3. Providing interventions and key messages around Public Health, including infant feeding.
Requirements
  • Registered Midwife with current UK registration and NMC PIN.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development, preferably with recognized teaching or assessing qualifications.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
  • Able to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.

Employment Details
