Mechanical Project Manager Role Overview

At RTL Group Ltd, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of mechanical projects within commercial developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial mechanical systems, including heating, plumbing, and ventilation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Lifecycle Management: Plan, organize, and manage the full lifecycle of mechanical projects, from initial design through to project completion.
  • Budget and Schedule Oversight: Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful delivery within agreed parameters.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to coordinate project activities and ensure that all mechanical systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all client specifications, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Cost Management: Manage project costs in conjunction with the client's Commercial Manager, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Health and Safety: Uphold health and safety regulations by performing regular site inspections and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, attending project meetings, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress through regular reviews and address any issues or delays that may arise.
  • Design Oversight: Oversee the preparation of designs and quotations for commercial heating, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Reporting: Provide detailed progress reports to senior management and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications or certifications.
  • SMSTS/SSSTS certification - Essential.
  • Experience working on commercial mechanical systems, including heating, plumbing, and ventilation.

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and close projects successfully.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, crucial for handling project challenges and ensuring effective solutions.
  • Strong commercial awareness, ensuring project budgets are managed efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager in the commercial sector.
  • A successful track record of delivering mechanical projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Experience managing multiple commercial projects simultaneously.
