Job Title: Building/Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage our refurbishment and renovation projects across social housing schemes.

About the Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple Decent Homes projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flows for Decent Homes schemes, ensuring they are delivered.
  • Procurement: Oversee the procurement process, including the selection of subcontractors, materials, and suppliers, ensuring value for money and compliance with client requirements.
  • Valuations and Variations: Prepare and submit interim valuations, assess and manage variations, and ensure final accounts are settled.
  • Contract Administration: Ensure compliance with JCT contracts, manage contractual risks, and resolve any disputes that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Client Liaison: Maintain effective communication with clients, local authorities, and project stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are met.
  • Reporting: Provide accurate financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
  • Site Visits: Attend site meetings and liaise with project teams to monitor progress and address any cost or contractual issues on-site.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Decent Homes or Social Housing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of refurbishment and maintenance contracts.
  • Excellent cost management, budgeting, and financial reporting skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
