Job Title: Commissioning Lead Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Lead Engineer to join our team at Russell Taylor Group Ltd. As a Commissioning Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning of switchgear and control panels on major UK data centre projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out witness testing and providing associated documentation as required.
  • Proving progress reports as necessary to project status.
  • Supervising site works in hand to maximise the profits of the company without compromising quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Reporting directly to the Head of Commissioning.
  • Ensuring weekly reports are sent to management.
  • Leading and managing the commissioning process.
  • Supervising on-site maintenance projects.
  • Commissioning of Switchgear without compromising quality, health, safety or the environment.
  • Efficiently managing projects to maximise the profits of the company.

Requirements:
  • Supervision of sub-contractors to ensure their tasks are approved and controlled as required.
  • Review and manage sub-contractor works making sure they're working in line with company requirements.
  • Management of all day to day on site commissioning operations.
  • Awareness of the quality, health, safety and environmental (QHSE) matters related to the works in hand and communicating and promoting QHSE compliance requirements.
  • Reporting commissioning progress on all activities both internally and externally.
  • Reporting any delays or issues that may arise from the commissioning process.
  • Attending commissioning meetings and reporting on progress.
  • Responsible for compiling testing and commissioning documentation including verifying and signing off on all results.
  • Helping improve operatives knowledge and training.
  • NVQ L3 in Electrical Discipline (or equivalent).

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Valid Passport.
