Role

Aerodynamic performance is the key differentiator in Formula 1. As a Senior Aerodynamicist, you will be part of the backbone of the department and a future leader, leveraging your blend of experience and capability to work together or lead small teams to deliver the aerodynamic objectives of your respective groups.

Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate effectively with the team to achieve common goals
  2. Lead small groups of aerodynamicists to achieve car-area level aerodynamic objectives
  3. Analyse and understand the results of wind tunnel (WT) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tests
  4. Efficiently create and iterate new geometric solutions to aerodynamic problems using computer-aided design (CAD)
  5. Work across the design groups to ensure the aerodynamic intent is realised
  6. In conjunction with the Principal Aerodynamicist, oversee WT sessions to ensure they run smoothly and achieve their targets
  7. Improve the aerodynamic development methodology and processes
  8. Develop, train, and empower junior members of the team
Requirements
  1. An excellent engineering degree with a specialisation in aerodynamics or equivalent
  2. A thorough understanding of aerodynamics and the ability to apply that knowledge
  3. A strong work ethic and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  4. Several years of recent experience at the forefront of Formula 1 aerodynamic development
  5. Demonstrate and develop technical leadership skills
  6. Mentor and develop less experienced aerodynamicists
  7. A keen eye for detail and a high standard of quality
  8. Be a strong and engaged team player, able to operate independently and exercise sound judgement as part of an overall plan at times, and with regular interactions with teammates at others
