We are seeking a Senior Commercial Finance Manager to lead our Commercial Finance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal working capital deployment within the business, particularly by overseeing stock holding and rebates receivable balance.

The role focuses on the Merchanting division but also has responsibility for promoting best practice across the wider Group. To succeed, you will need to develop strong working relationships with the Category Management Team, the Commercial Team, and the Branch Operations Network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Category Management - monitoring and challenging category performance, preparing analysis for weekly trading meetings.
  • Commercial Income - ensuring supplier rebates and other monies are accurately reflected in the P&L and that the rebate debtor is regularly reviewed to maximise the Group's working capital position.
  • Inventory - contributing to the Group's optimisation of working capital by supporting Operations in ensuring that branches hold the optimum level of stock.
  • Line management of 3 commercial analysts aligned to inventory, commercial income, and category management.
  • Providing ad-hoc finance support to Group Commercial and Group Procurement Directors and their direct reports.
