About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Lawyer to join our Commercial Procurement team as a Strategic Advisor. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-value, innovative, and cutting-edge procurement matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advice to authorities and utilities on procurement issues, including exemptions to make direct awards and contract modifications.
  • Draft procurement documents, including adverts, selection questionnaires, and invitations.
  • Advise authorities and utilities on the design and conduct of procurement processes.
  • Advise bidders on their tenders, including resolving issues that arise during the process.
  • Work with the disputes team to advise on the merits of procurement claims.
  • Support the disputes team in the preparation of claims and defences.
  • Run procurement workstreams on major projects led by colleagues specializing in IT, outsourcing, transport, utilities, construction, real estate, and more.
  • Support and lead business development initiatives, including client publications, articles, and speaking engagements.
  • Advise authorities and utilities on the Procurement Act 2023 and support clients through the transition period.
Requirements
  • Recent experience in public and/or utilities procurement law gained at a regional, national, or international firm.
  • Enthusiasm for developing further specialist procurement and sector expertise.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • A strong client-service focus and a commercial outlook.
