Job Description
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to oversee the site maintenance function, ensuring high plant availability and performance within approved budgets. This role will involve collaborating with operations staff to deliver a high level of service across 2 sites: Wrexham and Redditch.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a strategic maintenance function, incorporating in-house maintenance teams and contract staff, to achieve efficiency while adhering to relevant legislation and site procedures.
• Conduct plant defect reviews, proposing modifications where necessary, to maintain plant reliability and availability.
• Oversee the development of Stores Systems, Management Systems, H&S procedures, and the CMM system to enhance the organization of maintenance functions.
• Plan and manage planned maintenance outages, specifying work, quality control, and coordination between parties involved.
• Work with the site manager to prepare and manage site maintenance budgets, adhering to approved budgets.
• Engage with project and operations staff to ensure the maintenance effort aligns with overall business needs.
• Participate in the Management 'Standby' rota to address emergency situations.
• Perform other duties as requested by Senior Management.
• Ensure compliance with the company's Quality and Environmental Management System, Health and Safety policies, and relevant legislation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
• Solid experience in a supervisory maintenance role within a process industry, preferably in a Chemical, Waste Incineration, or Power Generation environment, involving steam raising plant.
• A minimum of HND or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Ability to work on-site outside regular hours in response to emergency situations.
• Experience in managing maintenance budgets and planned maintenance systems.
• Analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and a practical approach to engineering issues.
• Proficiency in PC applications, with the ability to learn new software systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and manage maintenance teams and contractors.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, prioritizing tasks effectively.
