Job Description

This is a part-time Senior Dental Officer position based in Duncan Street Dental Centre, NHS Scotland. The post will be split 50:50 between an acute hospital setting and a community clinic setting.

We are seeking a dentist with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience to join our special care dental team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering dental care for medically complex patients, both in-patients and out-patients.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with medical and surgical colleagues and other members of multidisciplinary teams. Previous experience of delivering care within an acute hospital setting would be beneficial.

In the community setting, the dentist will deliver care to a diverse group of patients fulfilling special care service acceptance criteria. This may involve working in community dental clinics, hospital dental clinics, hospital wards, ICU/HDU, and theatres.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver dental care for medically complex patients
  • Work closely with medical and surgical colleagues and other members of multidisciplinary teams
  • Deliver care in various settings, including community dental clinics, hospital dental clinics, hospital wards, ICU/HDU, and theatres
Requirements

We require a dentist with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience. Experience of treating patients with cardiac, haematology, and oncology conditions would be beneficial.

The salary for this position is estimated to be £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. We cannot accept CVs as a form of application and only a completed online application form will be accepted.
