A Maintenance Team Leader is sought for the Royal National Hotel to join a vibrant and multi-cultural team. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel is well-maintained and presented, providing an exceptional guest experience while adhering to H&S legislation and company policy.

You will coordinate daily tasks and scheduled maintenance activities with the team, prioritizing requests and operating efficiently. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assigning workload, planning, and preventive maintenance schedules for a team of shift engineers, painter/decorators, and supervising contractors when necessary
  • Conducting regular inspections to ensure hotel equipment, services, buildings, and plant are maintained to the highest standard, adhering to H&S guidelines
  • Liaising with the Hotel Manager and other Heads of Department to understand daily workload and scheduled maintenance activities
  • Maintaining current knowledge of building maintenance systems, including plant rooms, electrical equipment, fire safety systems, and implementing maintenance standards and procedures
  • Ensuring team members adhere to security and H&S procedures and operate equipment safely
  • Recruiting, training, and developing the team through coaching, performance reviews, and supporting individual development

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with previous managerial or supervisory experience in a similar maintenance position, preferably within a hotel environment, large retail outlet, or building management services role. Ideally, you will possess trade qualifications in NVQ level 2/3 electrical, plumbing, or heating. You must have up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety laws and regulations, promoting a safe working environment at all times.
