About the Job
The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our expanding Family Law Department, ensuring seamless delivery of our services. This varied role involves both internal support and client-facing duties, suiting individuals with paralegal experience or those looking to step up from a Family Law team into a more paralegal-style role. Your responsibilities will include:
- Production of letters and legal documents such as wills, contracts, and court papers
- Working from verbal instruction and notes
- Answering telephone calls in a professional manner
- Dealing with enquiries from clients, other professional advisors, and opposing solicitors via email, fax, and letter
- General file and record management i.e. file opening, client identification, document storage, file archiving
- Making appointments and managing diaries via both paper and electronic systems
- Preparing court forms and statements, and dealing with clients where appropriate
- Keeping records of costs and time recording fee-earning elements of your work
- File ledger management i.e. invoices, completion statements, notification of funds receipts, disbursement payments
Salary and Benefits

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent keyboard skills
- Knowledge of the legal duties and responsibilities helpful but not essential
- Experience of working in a client-facing environment
- Excellent telephone answering skills
- Previously worked in a legal firm
- Previous knowledge of working with case management software
- Time management skills
- Excellent organisational abilities
- Good communication skills
