About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Leader to join our team as a Senior Finance Business Partner. This individual will report directly to the Commercial Finance Director and work closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and their leadership team.

The successful candidate will oversee various revenue and cost streams within the COO remit, including Print Subscription & Circulation revenue, Technology, Newsprint, Production Establishment Opex costs, and CAPEX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish strong relationships with the COO and their leadership team to align on financial objectives.
  • Develop and provide high-quality reporting and management information (MI) to support revenue and cost stream analysis.
  • Manage financial aspects of key areas, including Print Subscription & Circulation revenue, Technology, Newsprint, Production Establishment Opex costs, and CAPEX.
  • Lead and develop team members, promoting best practices and fostering professional growth.
  • Take ownership of multiple balance sheets, ensuring accurate reconciliations and supporting the closing position.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.
  • Analyse financial movements and variances, reviewing key P&L and balance sheet items.
  • Produce detailed financial reports to monitor performance.
  • Deliver high-quality financial outputs, including forecasts, budgets, and long-term planning.
  • Create financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Drive reporting standardisation across the COO, ensuring transparency and accessibility.
  • Maintain a culture of financial governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Review COO contracts and ensure accurate cost and revenue capture.
  • Apply rigorous financial analysis to all business activities and reporting.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous accounting process improvement and internal control enhancement.

Essential Skills:

  • ACA, ACCA qualified
  • Solid experience with Financial Control and Balance Sheet management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across the business
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems effectively
  • Proactive and open approach

Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum
