Your Role: Supply Chain Merchandise Planner
As a Supply Chain Merchandise Planner, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow and optimal performance of our product inventory. You'll be responsible for forecasting sales volumes, managing intake plans, and collaborating with buyers and suppliers to achieve our commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Forecasting & Planning: Own the sales volume forecast for specific product groups, incorporating insights from trading teams, promotions, new ranges, and seasonal trends.
- Intake Management: Develop and manage intake plans for assigned product categories, aligning with budget expectations and ensuring optimal stock levels.
- Collaboration & Influence: Work closely with buyers to influence sales and margin forecasts, contributing to informed commercial decisions. Collaborate with the space planning team to optimize product placement within our stores.
- Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels to agreed stock budgets and key performance indicators (KPIs) such as availability, stock turnover, and gross margin return on investment (GMROI).
- Team Leadership & Development: Guide and mentor assistant merchandisers, fostering a high-performing team environment.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring their performance aligns with our expectations.
- Communication & Coordination: Facilitate effective communication between merchandising, retail operations, and logistics teams to ensure seamless product flow throughout the supply chain.
- Proven track record of success in a retail supply chain role.
- Strong commercial acumen with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in SAP/BW, with Power BI experience being advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills and expertise in data handling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Customer-centric mindset with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration and strong negotiation skills.
