Job Title: Principal Designer BSA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Designer to join our team at Carriera Limited. As a Principal Designer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of safety and compliance with the Building Safety Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement design strategies to ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design work is planned, managed, and monitored to meet regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with clients and other stakeholders to ensure their duties under the BSA are met
  • Coordinate the design development process to ensure compliance with relevant requirements
  • Monitor and report on design work progress and identify potential risks to compliance
  • Ensure the Fire and Emergency File is in place during the design phase and handed over to the PC during the construction phase

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a design or construction management role
  • Architect, Architectural Technologist, or Construction Management background
  • Chartered or working towards accreditation within the industry
  • Experience of high-risk buildings and understanding of PD duties and responsibilities
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of modern methods of construction
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
