This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Actuarial team as a Reserving Lead, working with a global market leader. You will be responsible for leading the actuarial reserving on a product tower for UK and European markets, providing quarterly recommendations on ultimate reserves positions, IBNR, and reserves uncertainty.

As a Reserving Lead, you will also be involved in:

  • Liaising with the claims team around the impact of initiatives and specific IBNR areas.
  • Working with the underwriting teams to understand the impact of profitability initiatives, portfolio changes, and other relevant actions.
  • Producing key reserving results and analytics to present to key stakeholders.
  • Managing a small team, including training junior staff.
  • Supporting continuous improvement to key processes.
  • Inputting into the budget loss ratio setting process for their product tower.
  • Involvement in the capital model calibration process and support in other key SII activities.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary status.
  • Significant Reserving experience within commercial lines.
  • Proficiency in reserving software, such as ResQ.
  • Knowledge of R and SQL advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
