About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Toxicologist to join our team at the UK Health Security Agency. As a Senior Toxicologist, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on the health effects of chemicals in drinking water, contaminated land, and from waste processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide toxicological advice on the health effects and risk assessments of chemicals in drinking water, land, and waste processes.
- Collaborate with UK Government departments to assess the public health impacts of chemical regulation.
- Contribute to the development of the scientific content for the UKHSA Compendium of Chemical Hazards and a public-facing website.
- Critically assess toxicity data on chemicals and provide recommendations for risk assessment and management.
Requirements
- Relevant Bachelors or Masters qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience in a relevant toxicology area.
- Knowledge and practical experience of chemical risk assessment, regulatory toxicology, or exposure science and human biomonitoring.
- Good scientific report writing and presentation skills.
- Able to critically assess literature data and other information relevant to assessing the toxicity of chemicals.
