Studio Engineer Job Description

As a Studio Engineer, you will play a crucial role in taking our designs to the next level. Working closely with our Engineering teams across the globe, you will utilize your expertise to solve complex problems while maintaining our design integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Creative Advanced Design team with advanced engineering studies, including architecture possibilities and limitations, complete vehicle set-ups, and show car studies.
  • Translate engineering requirements into design possibilities.
  • Transfer and describe engineering and key legislative requirements to design.
  • Generate feasible solutions for technically challenging areas.
  • Manage and document agreements between design and engineering.
  • Communicate design intent and needs within engineering.
  • Understand and implement technical input and limitations in the design models.
  • Document feasibility of design themes and raise critical issues.
  • Arbitrate, drive, and document agreements between engineering and design.
  • Help set up design clay models regarding standing heights and wheel positions.
Requirements:
  • Complete vehicle engineering knowledge, including overall vehicle requirements, and the ability to provide complex Catia studies.
  • Architecture engineering skills, including the ability to provide complex Catia studies.
  • Complete understanding of the vehicle development process.
  • Very good Catia, Teamcenter experience. Experience of A2MAC and Jira would also be advantageous.
  • Ability to work individually as well as in cross-functional teams and take full control and responsibility with excellent communication skills.
  • Technical university degree or equivalent, extensive solid working experience from the automotive industry is required.
  • Extensive automotive product concept and component engineering experience in aesthetic-sensitive areas.
  • Understanding of the engineering and validation processes for vehicle components and systems.
  • Working knowledge of component manufacturing, tooling requirements, and lead times.
  • Highly effective and productive.

This is a permanent or long-term contract outside of IR35. The salary is £75,000 per annum, or £45 per hour for a contract. The package is excellent, and the opportunity is significant.
