System Design Engineer

GlobalTech Recruitment is seeking an experienced Systems Design Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading aerospace and aviation company, driving project progress in systems design engineering.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a background in whole aircraft systems or other subsystems such as power distribution, avionics, power generation, propulsion, etc. (not restricted to these). They will be responsible for working closely with the System Design and Equipment Design teams to evolve system architecture in a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) / Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture system interface requirements and define them in interface documents like Interface Data Sheets (IDS) and System Interface Documents (SID)
  • Manage requirements via Jira and other traceability tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration
  • Develop and maintain system design documentation, including system architecture diagrams and technical specifications
  • Conduct safety analysis and risk assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the V-cycle and experience working across it
  • Excellent knowledge of requirements gathering, management, and tracking
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile methodologies
  • Good knowledge of thermal engineering, high-voltage and low-voltage electrical design, and safety analysis techniques (FHA, FTA, FMEA)
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink
