About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position requiring flexibility to work shifts. As we continue to grow, we need to work efficiently to keep all our team members safe, motivated, and empowered. We're seeking a driven Health & Safety Technician to help drive health and safety culture in one of our Sortation Centres (SCs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake risk assessments as required, while proactively following up on control measures until complete.
  • Complete daily metrics and callouts.
  • Monitor recordable incidents on-site and take a deep dive into Sort Centre data.
  • Advise associates and managers on Amazon's procedures and legal requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with Amazon's safety procedures and investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents.
  • Update internal records regarding incidents, near misses, and accidents.
  • Undertake action plans to ensure continuing, sustained compliance with legislation.
  • Conduct yourself professionally at all times and maintain confidentiality in matters involving safety investigations.
  • Flexibility: cover non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, during peak periods.

Requirements
  • Health and Safety NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum Intermediate level of English (B2) in written and verbal English.
  • Experience running metrics reports, analysing data to identify problems, and a root cause.

  • Experience in logistics, operations, warehouse, or customer-oriented environments.
  • Demonstrable ability to learn quickly and closely adhere to new processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate willingness to change, adapt, and innovate within the business.
  • Meticulous level of sustained attention-to-detail.
  • Ability to work independently, at times under minimum levels of supervision, and demonstrate ability to organise and prioritise time effectively to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Ability to work at all levels, coaching and mentoring others to work safely.
