About the Role:

The Mechanical Section Engineer will be responsible for leading the engineering function within their area, working closely with the process manager and quality functions. This role requires strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and reliability-based maintenance, as well as experience with CMMS systems and plant engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engineering plans to improve plant operations and maintenance
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians to achieve business objectives
  • Monitor and control expenditure on spares, materials, and labor to keep within agreed budgets
  • Identify and assist in the preparation of capital and revenue schemes to enhance engineering and production performance
  • Develop and submit major maintenance proposals and schedules, with responsibility for justification and full implementation

Requirements:

  • Engineering qualification (HNC or higher) and at least 5 years experience in a supervisory or technical role
  • Plant engineering experience, ideally with an understanding of VIM, VAR, ESR Furnaces, Heat Treatment Furnaces, and associated auxiliary equipment
  • Experience and knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and VAC systems
  • Experience with a CMMS system, such as INFOR
  • Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and reliability-based maintenance
