About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Prison Education Instructor - Music to join our team at Novus, working in the education department of HMP Brinsford. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 37 hours of work per week.

About the Position

As a Prison Education Instructor - Music, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, learner-focused vocational training in music. You will work with young people on live projects within the estate, providing them with valuable skills and knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to working in a fast-paced environment, willingness to gain an Award in Education within six months, and commitment to gaining the TAQA assessment qualification during probation. Additionally, they should hold at least a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or be willing to commit to gaining the qualification(s) within one year.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is around £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer an excellent package including extensive annual leave, a Monday-to-Friday working pattern, and our in-house 'Evolve' training programme. The successful candidate will also receive support through teacher training qualifications and assessor qualifications, as well as a full package of training to support working in a prison environment.
