Job Title: Chief Officer/Consultant in Public Health

Leeds City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Officer/Consultant in Public Health to lead our public health team and drive improvements in the health and wellbeing of our citizens.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering public health initiatives and will be able to demonstrate expertise in health improvement, health protection, and healthcare public health.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing public health strategies and policies
  • Providing expert advice and support to elected members, officers, and partners
  • Leading the development and implementation of health improvement, health protection, and healthcare public health programs
  • Collaborating with NHS and public sector partners to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills, and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Registration with the GMC, GDC, or UKPHR
  • Experience in public health leadership and management
