Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Specialist Nurse to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit. The successful candidate will work as part of our highly specialised critical care team to provide effective, evidence-based and patient-focused care.

About the Role

As a Critical Care Specialist Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the department, providing expert knowledge and supporting the junior nurses. You will work closely with the Critical Care Matron to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within Critical Care and possess Neuro or General ITU/HDU specific skills and experience. Advanced respiratory ventilation, neuro, cardiothoracic, and oncology experience would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in accordance with our clinical governance framework.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration with the NMC as a Registered General Nurse.
  • Neuro or General ITU/HDU specific skills and experience.
  • Extensive experience working within Critical Care.
  • Advanced respiratory ventilation, neuro, cardiothoracic, and oncology experience (advantageous).
