Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a 12-month contract basis. As an AIT Mechanical Engineer, you will provide critical support to our production team, ensuring the successful assembly and integration of satellites and payloads.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Preparation Phase
    • Support the customization phase from project kick-off.
    • Participate in DMU sessions to ensure design for manufacture.
    • Lead the installation of satellite appendages and integration flows.
  2. Project Operational Phase
    • Support the AIT Lead Engineering team during periods of high workload.
    • Oversee unit installation activities on the satellite.
    • Conduct quality reviews, PFMEA, and Root Cause Analysis.
    • Develop re-work instructions based on project requirements.
  3. Non-Project Activities
    • Design tooling and build aids for assembly execution.
    • Create and maintain training modules.
    • Develop new processes, improve existing ones, and monitor implementation.
Requirements:
  1. High mechanical skills and relevant experience in spacecraft or aircraft.
  2. Proven writing skills for procedures and process control.
  3. Quality-driven approach with attention to detail.
  4. Experience in producing high-quality documentation.
  5. Self-motivation and ability to handle changing priorities.
  6. Good planning skills and process competence.
  7. Knowledge of satellite integration processes and project phases.
  8. Experience with satellite appendage installation processes.
  9. Understanding of complex mechanical systems.
  10. Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques.
  11. Ability to prepare and conduct environmental tests.
  12. Handling and installation of thermal hardware.
  13. Mechanical integration of electronic units and subsystems.
