Pulse is seeking a dedicated and professional Band 8a Oncology Pharmacist to join our team in Gloucester.
About the Role:The Pharmacy team at Pulse is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of oncology pharmacy services. As a Band 8a Oncology Pharmacist, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparation of Chemotherapy: You will compound and prepare chemotherapy treatments.
- Verification: You will check in and check off medications to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Aseptic Techniques: You will put up aseptic products and label them appropriately.
- Clinical Duties: You will provide pharmaceutical care in the oncology department at CGH (Cheltenham General Hospital).
- Patient Counselling: You will offer guidance and support to patients receiving oral SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy).
- Clinical Pharmacy Services: You will ensure the safe and effective provision of clinical pharmacy services to both outpatient and inpatient oncology patients.
- Education and Training: You will act as a role model and assist in the training and development of junior pharmacists.
- Research and Development: You will support the research and development portfolio within the pharmacy department.
- Experience/Knowledge: Up to date GPhC registration. Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or Oncology Pharmacy is preferred. Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
- Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Time management and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
