Senior Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Expleo. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical solutions for a range of specialist design situations.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical solutions for specialist design situations, resolving design issues and problems.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to other designers, ensuring design governance for technical standards.
- Work with a high degree of technical autonomy, incorporating Engineer status.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards, Good Practice Guides, and ISO standards.
- Design mechanical handling equipment and movement systems for small items (40 kg).
- Allocate discipline tasks to a team of designers, check team drawing outputs, and ensure inter-discipline coordination.
- Promote effective co-operation across design and other functional teams.
- Assist in managing customer relationships, including liaison and relationship development.
- Advise on selecting methods and tools for tasks and provide technical assistance to designers.
- Contribute to drawing production in support of basic, detail, and production design.
- Provide a point of contact for discipline-related issues and contribute to design reviews.
- Assist in resolving production and technical queries and develop discipline solutions.
- Contribute to learning from experience and develop innovative design solutions.
- Maintain knowledge of current best practice and promote a culture of best practice in design expertise.
- Exercise care for health and safety and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- HNC minimum in a relevant discipline or equivalent academic qualification.
- Experience in a detailed design environment.
- Good knowledge of CAD tools.
- Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice.
- Incorporated Engineer status.
- ICF (Integrated Competency Framework) to be demonstrated or being worked towards.
- Demonstrable experience in technical leading of a multi-disciplined design team.
- Excellent communications skills and ability to interface with other disciplines.
