Senior In-House Risk Lawyer Opportunity

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor with a keen interest in law firm regulation, risk, and compliance to join the firm's in-house Risk & Compliance function as a Risk Lawyer. In this role, you will:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on risk-related issues, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
  • Assist with strategic and operational issues, including root cause analysis investigations, managing transformational change projects, and reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Provide advice on professional regulations and report to the firm's COLP as needed.
  • Review, update, and communicate firm-wide policies to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Review and advise on client terms of engagement and bid proposals, ensuring alignment with firm policies and regulations.
  • Assist the team in managing claims and circumstances notifiable to the firm's Professional Indemnity insurers.
  • Address complaints in accordance with the firm's established complaint procedures.

This role offers a unique chance to work closely with the Risk & Compliance team, contributing to strategic projects and ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Requirements:

  • A qualified solicitor with a keen interest in law firm regulation, risk, and compliance.
  • Experience in professional liability/risk is preferable, with a particular background in contract reviews and law firm regulation. Experience of working in-house would be beneficial.
  • A forward thinker with excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills, who is solutions-focused, with the ability to independently manage priorities and deadlines.
