Assistant Director of Residential Experience

The Assistant Director for Residential Experience is a key member of the Residential Life & Dining Services leadership team, responsible for leadership and management of either the FYRE (First Year Residential Experience) or PULSE (Plymouth Upper-Level Student Experience) communities at Plymouth State University. This position requires a 12-month, full-time, live-on commitment, supervising 4-6 professional and/or graduate level staff members, and collaborating with strategic campus partners.
Key Responsibilities- Directly supervise and develop 4-6 professional and/or graduate level live-in staff, providing individualized professional development and conducting regular reviews.
- Lead the development, implementation, and assessment of FYRE or PULSE as part of the department's comprehensive community development model.
- Provide leadership to 4-6 professional and/or graduate level staff through committee work and other departmental initiatives.
- Develop and update Residential Life Policies and Procedures.
- Provide feedback for departmental processing and expenditures, ensuring consistency with departmental, campus, and USNH policies and guidance.
- A completed master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration, Counseling, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Significant progressive experience in housing & residential life, student leadership programs, or a related higher education field.
- Demonstrated skills in management, administration, oral and written communications, budgeting, interpersonal relationships, short- and long-range planning, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Demonstrated foundational knowledge of student development and understanding of current trends in the field of housing & residence life.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, including MS Office Systems, student housing software, and student conduct software.
- Experience integrating residential and academic initiatives, such as Living-Learning Communities, Special Interest Housing, and Residential Curriculum.
