Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our EYFS team at a Primary School in Bristol. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our pupils, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEND, working closely with the Class Teacher to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring that pupils with SEND are fully included and supported.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and making recommendations for future support.
  • Collaborate with other members of the EYFS team to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, keeping them informed of pupil progress and involving them in decision-making processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, preferably in an EYFS setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of pupils and the school.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning theories, with a commitment to inclusive and child-centered practice.
  • Relevant qualifications and training, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
