We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architecture Lead to join our Product and Technology organization. As a key individual contributor, you will work closely with our VP of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer to drive high-impact projects, setting technical direction and accelerating delivery.

The Role:
  • You will join our Product and Technology organization, working across squads as projects require it.
  • You will be responsible for leading or facilitating the design of technical solutions for projects you are involved with.
  • You will be versatile and play multiple roles as the situation demands, from software development, cloud engineering, through to more systems design.
  • You will collaborate with team members, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • You may also be required to lead and implement projects as an individual.
  • You will collaborate with peers in senior architectural positions to help design a joined-up end-to-end platform, deploying engineering best practices and encouraging others to do so.
  • You will play the role of 'glue' across teams, doing the necessary tasks to keep the team moving forward and shipping its work.

We are looking for an experienced professional with at least 8 years of professional engineering experience as an individual contributor, with at least 2 years as a Staff Engineer. You should have extensive experience in systems design of big data ETL pipelines using cloud-based architectures such as AWS, GCP. You must be able to translate product and sales requirements into a technical roadmap and lead the creation of technology improvements that improve the quality of products in your area of concern.

Requirements:
  • At least 8 years of professional engineering experience as an individual contributor, with at least 2 years as a Staff Engineer
  • Extensive experience in systems design of big data ETL pipelines using cloud-based architectures such as AWS, GCP
  • Ability to translate product and sales requirements into a technical roadmap
  • Leadership in creating technology improvements that enhance product quality
  • Experience mentoring junior team members
  • Critical evaluation of multiple solutions to determine the best paths forward
  • Able to guide others in shipping their projects, providing improvement suggestions in efficiency, velocity, and effectiveness
  • Able to ship an individual project with minimal guidance beyond project requirements
  • Effective communication with stakeholders, including junior engineers and non-technical domain experts

$140,000 - $180,000 per annum (depending on experience)
