Job Title: Network Operations Centre Engineer

IP-People is seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Centre Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our NOC team, you will be responsible for providing 2nd/3rd line support for customer fault management, monitoring and troubleshooting core network infrastructure, and managing network and system performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support for customer fault management, ensuring timely resolution within agreed SLAs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot core network infrastructure, customer networks, systems, and services, following ITIL best practices.
  • Manage, optimize, and upgrade network and system performance, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with key third-party suppliers, manage external contractors, and escalate vendor issues to ensure timely fault resolution.
  • Lead the incident management process, providing regular updates to internal stakeholders and external customers on fault progress until resolution.
  • Enhance the monitoring architecture and systems to boost service resilience for customers.
  • Perform scheduled tasks and manage network capacity to ensure optimal performance.
  • Deliver key metrics and reports as required, providing insights into network performance and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a NOC environment, with a strong understanding of network monitoring tools and ITIL best practices.
  • CCNP/JNCIP certifications or relevant experience, with a proven track record of managing complex network environments.
  • Strong supplier management skills, with the ability to collaborate with third-party vendors and manage external contractors.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a customer-centric approach to fault resolution.
  • Experience with network systems and basic system administration skills, with a strong understanding of fibre optic networks and telecommunications systems.
