Job Summary:
The Children and Young People's Commissioning team at South Gloucestershire Council is seeking an experienced Commissioning Officer to join their team. As an Assistant Commissioning Officer, you will play a crucial role in brokering placements and packages of care for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate and administer the start of services by liaising with care providers and securing the most appropriate placements for children and young people.
- Implement contracts, process invoices, and contribute to project planning, partnership working, and the development of commissioning plans.
- Work in co-production with colleagues, partners, people who use services, and carers to ensure the services commissioned meet outcomes.
- Support commissioning officers and managers with the wider partnership, working to support children and young people and their families.
Requirements:
- Relevant knowledge and experience of working in an organisation that commissions and contracts in social care or similar services.
- Flexible approach to working across different areas.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish a positive relationship with a wide variety of stakeholders, contacts, and customers.
- Well-organised with excellent time management skills and able to manage competing demands.
- Desirable: Level 3 qualification in social care, health care, or business studies.
