We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utilities Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Refresco. As a Utilities Maintenance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities, maintaining high levels of service and efficiency, and contributing to the overall success of our business.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure utility service levels are maintained to support production requirements, including steam boilers, compressed air systems, and effluent plants.
- Maintain department standards to the highest level, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Support budget delivery through effective maintenance and spare parts management, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives and asset downtime reduction projects, contributing to the company's sustainability goals.
- Actively support the delivery of quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Carry out regular site monitoring to manage site environmental compliance, ensuring that all assets are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities, corrective actions, and repairs as required, maintaining high levels of equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Manage contractor control on a daily basis, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards and in accordance with company policies.
- Respond to crisis management situations, providing extended cover, call-ins, and remote monitoring as required.
- Become the first point of contact for all site utilities, providing expert advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Develop expertise in steam and condensate systems, HP/LP compressed air, water treatment and distribution, effluent treatment and disposal, chemical dosing and delivery systems, cooling tower and legionella control systems, building management systems, canteen and colleague welfare facilities, air handling and fixed cooling equipment, roller, rapid, fire, and pedestrian doors, fire suppression and detection systems.
- Participate in BOAS – Boiler Operation Accreditation scheme training.
- Complete Legionella training and manufacturer training courses as required.
We are seeking a qualified maintenance engineer with hands-on experience in carrying out basic maintenance activities and a good foundational knowledge of engineering practices. A positive outlook and a desire to deliver high levels of service and efficiency are essential for success in this role.
Experience working on steam boilers, compressed air, effluent plants, chemical processing equipment, wastewater treatment plants, and other related systems is highly desirable. Ex-military personnel are welcome to apply, as we value the skills and experience gained in the military.
