About the Role

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team at Barclays Bank PLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving software using various engineering methodologies to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and optimized software solutions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and devise solution strategies.
  • Implementing effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
  • Ensuring adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development and deployment.
  • Familiarity with automation scripting using Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Docker, Jenkins, Nexus, ELK, App Dynamics & Chef.
  • Knowledge of cloud services like AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience of using version control repositories.
  • Working knowledge of code quality tools (SonarQube, Coveralls, etc).

Salary and Benefits:

  • A competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, based on experience.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, pension scheme, and annual leave.
