Currys is seeking a Senior Category Buyer to lead the growth opportunity for SharkNinja's new product development and ensure Currys is at the forefront of innovation.
This role is positioned within the commercial team, working closely with the Go To Market team, building strong relationships with our largest SDA supplier partner.
The successful candidate will have extensive buying and management experience, responsible for high turnover, complex categories, leading an Assistant Buyer and Go To Market Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiating product ranges, cost pricing, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, and stock availability.
- Negotiating promotional funding support to drive sales while maintaining margin in line with financial objectives.
- Working closely with the category planner to secure supplier support to drive additional sales and margin where opportunity for upside exists.
- Using customer and market data to ensure correct ranges and promotional plans are in place to drive customers for life, improvements in market share, and net profitability.
Requirements include:
- Substantial buying experience working within a FMCG/Fashion or Hard Goods fast-paced retailer.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills to review data and provide recommendations/actions plans to drive sales, profit, and cash.
- Customer champion with excellent commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs.
