Job Title: Network Operational Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Operational Specialist to join our team at Yorkshire Water. As a key member of our Customer Field Services department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our sewer network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and guidance to field-based teams on the safe operation of the sewer network, including jetting, CCTV, and Recycler/Vactor operations.
  • Review and validate RAMS for all works to be delivered on the gravity sewer network.
  • Support significant incidents, such as pollution and flooding, and provide expert advice on safe operation and restoration of operational failure on the sewer network.
  • Collaborate with the operational contracts team to drive improvements and efficiencies within the WWSA, including remedial activity, prolonged work activity, and poor work practices.
  • Manage the CSO asset base, ensuring safe and effective operation, and working closely with central control and CSO teams to deliver maintenance plans.
Requirements:
  • Technical understanding of sewer systems and network performance issues, with a basic knowledge of sewage treatment works.
  • Previous experience in the operation of high-pressure jetting equipment with appropriate accreditation.
  • Proven ability to work in a busy environment, managing day-to-day workloads, and intervening to mitigate risks.
  • Strong Health & Safety background, with experience of Health and Safety management processes and systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team, develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
  • Proficient in the use of IT, including Microsoft Office and company-based systems, such as SAP.
