Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical construction projects using Ensign Software.

Your duties will include:

  • Reviewing project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work.
  • Conducting site visits to assess project conditions, if necessary.

You will calculate the costs of materials, labour, and equipment required for the electrical components of a project. You will also use estimating software to input data and generate detailed estimates, factoring in potential risks and uncertainties that may affect costs.

As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and evaluating the quantity and cost of materials needed.
  • Determining labour hours and rates based on project size and complexity.
  • Analysing subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.

You will prepare detailed and itemized bid proposals for submission to clients or general contractors, ensuring all estimates align with project timelines and client requirements. You will collaborate with project managers and engineers to review estimates and finalize bids.

The successful candidate will assist in developing and maintaining project budgets, monitoring and updating estimates as project details evolve. You will provide input on cost-saving measures or value engineering options and present estimates to clients, explaining the basis of calculations and any assumptions made.

You will maintain accurate records of all estimates, bids, and supporting documentation, preparing reports on project estimates, including cost breakdowns and justifications.
