Senior Civils Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

Kenton Black Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civils Quantity Surveyor to join its Aberdeenshire based Transmission & Distribution team.

About the Role

This is a key position within the commercial team, responsible for the execution of various stages of a project. The successful candidate will be based in the Glasgow office and will work closely with the Client and Internal Project Team to manage interim commercial meetings, report on commercial status, and ensure prompt payment of subcontractor accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake and manage interim commercial meetings with the Client and Internal Project Team.
  • Report in detail on the commercial status of the project.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts.
  • Ensure payment certificates are processed and payments are made per the agreed sub-contract and procurement terms.
  • Identify potential commercial risks and report promptly to Senior Management.
  • Have a practical understanding of scheduling and its associated commercial implications.
  • Costing and agreeing daily work changes, including managing subcontractor remeasurement of contract works, site dayworks, and site change orders.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide necessary detailed backup to support commercial tracking and costing.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Quantity Surveying and a strong background in civils quantity surveying. They will be able to demonstrate a practical understanding of scheduling and its commercial implications, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.
