PDI Mechanic Job Description
We are seeking a skilled PDI Mechanic to join our team at Clear Automotive. As a PDI Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Qualified mechanic: Fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You've got your own toolkit for standard repairs
- Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Carry out inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles to the highest standards. Including suspensions, clutches, diagnostics,
- Repairing and replacing faulty vehicle parts
- Performing test drives to check repairs
- Updating vehicle service records
- Carrying out mechanical ramp inspections for all vehicles.
- Accurately reporting all issues/faults found.
- Recommending appropriate repair methods.
- Work to set KPI productivity targets -Ensure the accurate data processing of your finding after inspection (i.e. damage, defects found)
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- The candidate should be confident using all the necessary tools and materials, have experience with or be happy with working in a high-volume modern body shop.
Requirements:
- A background within PDI or mechanical experience is essential
- City & Guilds OR NVQ level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and repair
- Experience of working in vehicle repairs
