Job Title: Building Protection Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Protection Engineer to join our team at Access Talent Group in Glasgow.

As a Building Protection Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the fire safety of our building designs. You will be responsible for assessing and mitigating fire risks in a variety of projects.

Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annumJob Description:

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  1. Protecting Buildings from Fire Risks: Conduct thorough assessments of building designs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  2. Implementing Fire Protection Measures: Develop and implement effective fire protection strategies for new construction projects as well as existing buildings.
  3. Collaboration with Design Teams: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire safety measures into building designs.
  4. Preparing Technical Documents: Prepare and review technical documents, including fire safety reports, drawings, and specifications.
  5. Providing Expert Advice: Advise on the selection and installation of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and suppression systems.
  6. Identifying Fire Hazards: Conduct risk assessments and fire modelling to identify potential fire hazards and develop effective risk reduction strategies.
  7. Staying Current with Industry Developments: Stay abreast of the latest developments in fire safety engineering and incorporate best practices into our design processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Fire Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in fire engineering within the building design industry, with a strong track record of delivering successful projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations, codes, and standards, including BS 9999, Approved Document B, NFPA codes, and relevant Eurocodes.
  • Proficiency in fire modeling software, such as FDS and CFD, as well as familiarity with building design and analysis tools like AutoCAD and Revit.
